22 Saudi Universities Earn Spots in QS World University Rankings 2027
RIYADH: A total of 22 Saudi universities have been featured in the QS World University Rankings 2027, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing influence in global higher education.
King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals emerged as the highest-ranked Saudi institution, securing 63rd place worldwide and earning a position among the world’s top 100 universities. King Saud University followed in 107th place globally, while King Abdulaziz University ranked 200th.
Other notable Saudi institutions included Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University, ranked 421st globally, and Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, which secured 474th position.
The rankings also featured several additional Saudi universities, including Prince Sultan University, King Khalid University, King Faisal University, Umm Al-Qura University, Qassim University, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Alfaisal University, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Taif University, Effat University, Majmaah University, the Islamic University of Madinah, Northern Borders University, the University of Hail, the University of Tabuk, and Taibah University.
The strong representation of Saudi universities in the latest rankings reflects continued progress in academic quality, scientific research, innovation, and institutional development. It also demonstrates the Kingdom’s increasing competitiveness in the global higher education sector.
The achievement aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to strengthen knowledge-based industries, promote innovation, and enhance the international standing of Saudi educational institutions.
