Dust-Stirring Winds Expected to Reduce Visibility Across Several Saudi Regions
RIYADH: Dust-raising winds are forecast to affect several regions of Saudi Arabia from Tuesday through the middle of next week, with some areas expected to experience significantly reduced or near-zero horizontal visibility, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM said active surface winds are expected to generate dust during daytime hours from Tuesday, June 30, to Wednesday, July 8, affecting the Eastern Province, along with the eastern parts of the Northern Borders Region, Al-Qassim, and Riyadh.
Beginning on Wednesday and continuing until the middle of next week, similar dusty conditions are also expected along the coastal highway extending from Jeddah to Jazan.
According to the NCM, the dust-raising winds could lead to poor visibility, with some locations likely to experience near-zero horizontal visibility during the affected period.
