Saudi Arabia Presents Vision 2030 Milestones at UN High-Level Forum
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia will showcase its progress under Vision 2030 during the 2026 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), taking place in New York from July 7 to 15.
Held under the theme “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind,” the forum brings together UN member states to assess global progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As part of its participation, the Kingdom will present its 2026 Voluntary National Review (VNR), outlining national achievements and progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. The report marks Saudi Arabia’s third VNR, following earlier submissions in 2018 and 2023.
The review was prepared through a broad collaborative process involving more than 140 organizations, including government agencies, private-sector institutions, universities, civil society groups, and international partners.
Saudi Arabia’s delegation is led by Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim and includes representatives from 14 government, private, and non-profit organizations, such as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Energy, Education, Environment, Water and Agriculture, Municipalities and Housing, along with the Saudi Fund for Development, Expo 2030 Riyadh Company, the Saudi Green Building Forum, the Saudi Sports for All Federation, Majmaah University, and other national institutions.
This year’s forum will focus on progress toward SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Members of the Saudi delegation will deliver official statements, participate in ministerial discussions and SDG review sessions, and contribute to general debates throughout the forum.
The Kingdom will also organize several side events, including its official session titled “Rethinking SDG Implementation Through Prioritization and Delivery Approaches.” In addition, Saudi Arabia will host an exhibition, “Advancing Sustainability in Saudi Arabia,” highlighting national initiatives and achievements that support sustainable development.
Saudi Arabia said its participation reflects the Kingdom’s continued commitment to aligning the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 with the global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, while strengthening international cooperation in advancing sustainability.
