Saudi Arabia Recalls 27,360 Chevrolet Vehicles Over Airbag Defect

RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce has recalled 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles in Saudi Arabia due to a defect in the driver-side airbag inflator that could cause sharp metal fragments to be ejected during an accident, potentially resulting in serious injuries or death.

The recall covers Chevrolet Trax, Cruze, and Aveo vehicles from various model years.

The affected model years are 2010–2017 for the Trax, 2012–2018 for the Cruze, and 2010–2017 for the Aveo.

The Ministry urged vehicle owners to check whether their cars are included in the recall by verifying their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) through Recalls.sa.

Owners of affected vehicles were also advised to contact General Motors, Aljomaih Automotive Company, or Universal Motors Agencies to arrange the required repairs at no cost.

The recall is part of the Ministry’s efforts to address vehicle safety defects and ensure that necessary corrective measures are carried out to protect motorists and passengers.
