TGA: Passenger Transport App Trips Rise 20% to 38.3 Million in Q2 2026
RIYADH — The number of trips made through passenger transport applications in Saudi Arabia exceeded 38.3 million during the second quarter of 2026, marking a 20 percent increase compared with the same period in 2025, according to the Transport General Authority (TGA).
The TGA said the growth reflects the expanding role of passenger transport applications in supporting urban mobility and providing users with flexible and safe transportation options.
According to the authority, these applications provide advanced and efficient transport services through a variety of mobility options, helping users reach their destinations more easily while improving the overall quality of services.
Riyadh Leads Passenger Transport App Trips
The Riyadh region recorded the largest share of passenger transport app trips in the Kingdom during the second quarter, accounting for 43.8 percent of the total.
The Makkah region ranked second with 21.3 percent, followed by the Eastern Province with 14.4 percent and Madinah with 5.4 percent.
The figures highlight the continued growth of app-based transportation services across Saudi cities and their increasing contribution to urban mobility and transportation efficiency.
