Commerce Ministry conducts 2,259 inspections of school supply outlets

RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce conducted 2,259 inspection visits to bookstores and stationery shops across Saudi Arabia as preparations continue for the start of the new academic year.

The inspection campaign focused on ensuring the availability of school supplies and a range of alternative products, while also monitoring price stability at retail outlets.

Inspectors checked that products displayed clear price tags or electronic pricing information and monitored promotional discounts to ensure they complied with applicable regulations.

The ministry said the inspections are part of its efforts to ensure that bookstores and stationery shops comply with the Ministry of Commerce’s laws and regulations and provide consumers with a reliable and transparent shopping experience ahead of the new school year.
