Saudi Industry Ministry Issues 50,030 Certificates of Origin in July

RIYADH — The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 50,030 certificates of origin in July as part of its efforts to support exporters and facilitate export procedures for businesses across various sectors.

The ministry said the certificate of origin is an official document confirming that products being exported are of national origin or have acquired national origin status. The service is available to industrial establishments, commercial companies and institutions, as well as individuals such as farmers, fishermen, sole proprietors and local artisans.

The ministry explained that certificates of origin are issued in different formats based on the destination and applicable trade arrangements. These include certificates for national products from GCC countries, certificates for national products exported to other Arab countries, preferential certificates used when exporting to countries and economic blocs covered by free trade agreements, and Arabic-English certificates for destinations that do not provide preferential treatment.

Beneficiaries can apply for a certificate of origin electronically through the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources’ website, making it easier for exporters to complete the required procedures and support their international shipments.
