Saudi Industrial Sector Expands to 13,660 Facilities as 322 New Licenses Issued

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector continued its growth momentum in April 2026, with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issuing 322 new industrial licenses and announcing the commencement of operations at 188 factories, according to data released by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information.

The latest figures show that the total number of industrial establishments across the Kingdom reached 13,660 by the end of April, compared with 12,289 during the same period last year, highlighting the sector’s ongoing expansion.

According to the report, the newly issued licenses represent investments exceeding SR12.33 billion and are expected to create more than 2,977 job opportunities across various regions of Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the 188 factories that began production during the month account for investments worth approximately SR2.01 billion and are projected to generate around 3,606 additional jobs.

The ministry explained that industrial establishment statistics include all factories holding industrial licenses, whether they are currently operational or still under development. The data is updated regularly to reflect changes in investment activity and employment generation.

Through the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information, the ministry publishes monthly reports highlighting key industrial indicators across the Kingdom. These reports track industrial growth, investment volumes, newly issued licenses, factories entering production, and other developments within the sector.

The ministry noted that the publication of these indicators forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen transparency and monitor the Kingdom’s industrial progress in support of long-term economic development objectives.
