RIYADH — More than 63,000 Saudi families moved into their first homes during the first half of 2026, reflecting the Kingdom’s continued efforts to expand homeownership and improve access to affordable housing.

According to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, a total of 63,076 Saudi families secured their first homes during the first six months of the year, including 12,004 families in June, through a range of housing and financing solutions.

The ministry also said that 48,631 Saudi families benefited from housing support services during the same period, with 10,160 families receiving support in June alone.

Since the launch of the Sakani housing program in 2017, the total number of subsidized housing contracts has reached 1,046,890 by the end of June 2026.

Sakani offers several housing options, including ready-built homes, off-plan housing units, self-construction support, and residential land, allowing beneficiaries to choose solutions that best match their needs and financial capabilities.

The ministry said the program continues to expand homeownership opportunities while supporting Saudi families on their journey toward owning a home.

It added that housing projects developed in partnership with real estate developers are increasing the supply of residential units and creating integrated communities equipped with essential facilities, services, and public spaces to improve quality of life.

The ministry also noted that Saudi Arabia’s homeownership rate among Saudi families reached 66.24% by the end of 2025, reflecting continued progress toward the Housing Program’s Vision 2030 target of 70%.
