Rain and Thunderstorms to Continue Across Southwest Saudi Arabia Until Saturday

JEDDAH-The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has forecast continued rain and thunderstorms across parts of Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, and Makkah regions through Saturday, based on data from the Saudi Numerical Model.

According to the latest forecast, light rain will begin affecting Abha and nearby areas on Monday evening before clearing later the same night.

On Tuesday, light to moderate rainfall is expected around Abha, with lighter showers extending across southern Asir and areas south of Makkah. As the day progresses, rainfall will weaken but spread to surrounding areas before shifting toward Taif by evening.

The forecast for Wednesday indicates light to moderate rain along the border of eastern Jazan and southeastern Asir, with lighter showers expected in northern Asir and southern Makkah. Rain is expected to end by early evening.

On Thursday, Abha is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, while northern Asir and much of Al Baha will experience lighter showers. The rainfall will gradually become scattered before clearing later in the day.

For Friday, light to moderate rain is forecast along the eastern Jazan–southeastern Asir border, with scattered showers across northern Asir. By evening, the rain is expected to shift toward the Jazan coast before gradually weakening.

On Saturday, the heaviest rainfall is expected along Saudi Arabia’s southwestern coast, particularly across Asir and Jazan, with moderate to heavy showers. The rain will later extend into Al Baha before weakening, becoming scattered, and eventually clearing by the evening.
