RCRC Begins Construction of Three Bridges at Prince Turki Road–Northern Ring Interchange

RIYADH — The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has started construction on three new bridges as part of the Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road Development Project at its intersection with the Northern Ring Road, aiming to improve traffic flow and strengthen road connectivity in northern Riyadh.

According to the RCRC, the current phase of the project will increase the road’s capacity to handle more than 200,000 vehicles daily, helping reduce congestion, shorten travel times, and provide a smoother commuting experience for motorists.

The development covers a 3-kilometer stretch of Prince Turki Road and includes road widening, additional traffic lanes, and the introduction of advanced traffic management systems designed to improve the efficiency of Riyadh’s transportation network.

The commission said the project is part of its ongoing efforts to address traffic congestion, improve connections between key transport corridors and major destinations, and support the capital’s rapid urban and population growth through modern infrastructure.

The bridge project is also a key component of the Main and Ring Road Axes Development Program, under which the RCRC is upgrading more than 500 kilometers of roads across Riyadh through new road links, corridor enhancements, and better integration of the city’s road network to create a more efficient and connected transportation system.
