RIYADH — Saudi Arabia is expected to experience higher-than-average temperatures across most parts of the Kingdom during August, the final month of the summer season, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).

NCM spokesperson Hussein Al-Qahtani said the latest seasonal climate outlook indicates that above-normal temperatures are likely to continue across much of the country throughout August.

The forecast also suggests that rainfall will be below seasonal averages in Jazan, Al-Baha, and parts of Tabuk, Madinah, Makkah, Asir, Najran, and the Eastern Province. Other regions are expected to receive rainfall levels that are generally consistent with normal seasonal patterns.

In addition, wind speeds are expected to be stronger than usual across many areas of the Kingdom, increasing the possibility of dust and sand being lifted in open and desert regions depending on local weather conditions.

Al-Qahtani advised residents and visitors to stay updated through official weather forecasts and alerts issued by the National Center for Meteorology and to follow safety guidance, particularly as hotter temperatures and stronger winds are expected during the month.
