Saudi Arabia Launches Unified National Visa Platform
JEDDAH — The Saudi Cabinet has approved the creation of a unified national visa platform under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, making it the Kingdom’s official digital platform for visa services.
The Cabinet also approved visa exemption agreements with Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Poland for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports.
The meeting, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, reviewed Saudi Arabia’s recent diplomatic, economic, and development initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation and supporting global peace and security.
The Cabinet praised the Saudi delegation’s participation in United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to international cooperation in combating terrorism and preventing its financing.
Ministers also welcomed the UN Human Rights Council’s unanimous approval of a Saudi-led resolution focused on empowering women in cybersecurity, supporting the global initiative launched by the Crown Prince.
The Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia’s top global ranking in the 2026 ICT Development Index issued by the International Telecommunication Union, describing it as a reflection of the Kingdom’s rapid progress in digital infrastructure, technology, and artificial intelligence.
It also noted that Saudi Arabia continues to lead the Middle East and North Africa’s digital economy, supported by strong growth across the technology sector.
The Cabinet praised Saudi Arabia’s re-election as President of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for a second consecutive term, recognizing the Kingdom’s leadership in regional and international aviation.
It also welcomed the World Bank’s recognition of Saudi Arabia’s artificial intelligence regulatory sandbox for education, describing it as a leading international model for advancing digital learning.
On domestic development, the Cabinet reviewed key performance indicators and highlighted the continued growth of the nonprofit sector, with more than 7,200 nonprofit organizations operating by the end of 2025 and approximately 1.7 million volunteers contributing across the Kingdom.
The Cabinet also authorized the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission to negotiate and sign a memorandum of understanding with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to strengthen cooperation in nuclear and radiological regulation.
