RIYADH — The Ministry of Sport has launched a new licensing service to regulate organized adventure travel activities, known as “Al-Rahhala,” both inside and outside Saudi Arabia.

The new Al-Rahhala licensing section is available through the Riyadi platform, providing a unified process for obtaining permits and helping ensure that adventure trips are organized and conducted safely.

The activity combines adventure travel with environmental exploration and aims to promote responsible and sustainable travel practices.

Through the platform, applicants can submit permit requests, which will be reviewed in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure that planned trips comply with applicable regulations, whether they take place within the Kingdom or abroad.

Participants will also have access to services provided by relevant government authorities and supporting entities.

The initiative seeks to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a destination for organized, safe and sustainable adventure travel while highlighting the Kingdom’s natural, cultural and sporting experiences to visitors and travelers.

It also aims to encourage licensed travelers to professionally document their sporting, cultural and exploration experiences undertaken during their journeys.
