RIYADH — Saudi Public Security has reminded motorists of the importance of maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, warning that failing to do so is a traffic violation punishable by a fine of up to SR300.

Public Security said keeping an adequate distance from other vehicles is a key road-safety measure that can help reduce accidents resulting from sudden stops, unexpected situations or loss of vehicle control.

The authority emphasized that following traffic regulations is a shared responsibility that helps protect drivers, passengers and other road users. It also confirmed that the relevant authorities will continue enforcing penalties against traffic violators as part of efforts to reduce dangerous driving behaviors and improve public safety.

Drivers were urged to remain alert while on the road and follow traffic instructions designed to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents.
